Evening came and I felt boxed-in. I watched TV all day and hadn’t caught a single synch—not a tremor or a gastronomical event or anything— just like the day before and the day before that. Usually a lull meant that an intense series of synchs were making their way towards me—even so, I couldn’t help but wonder: Was it all over? Was the download finally finished? Did I have all the information I needed? After all that I’d seen, a part of me still believed it possible that I’d wake up one day and everything would be back to normal.
“I fake it so real I am beyond fake”: In this final spring of the first decade Courtney Love’s post-punk aphorism unfolds with a wisdom way beyond the 90s dark ages from which it originated. In the era of Reality TV and social networking we are just beginning to figure out that going “beyond fake” doesn’t mean moving closer to being “real” but moving away from such distinctions altogether.
I don’t care what people think. I’m a fan and always have been.
“An Eagle in Your Mind” is one of those songs that comes on my magic shuffle just when i need it most. I love it so much but strangely enough I never think to put it on manually. If any band has an automagic vibe to them, Boards of Canada is prolly it.
This weird youtube video I found uses anime and dream-speed editing to bring out the otherworldliness and superhero epic vibe that I always got when I heard it.
“He’s the man who killed me.”
Feels like they wrote this song about me: “So Far Around the Bend”, by The National.
Two viable results emerged when I searched for an ID on the Twitter logo font: it seemed to be either Pico Alphabet or a modified version of Sparkytype’s Chicken. I decided to go with Pico as the results championing it were more recent plus its designer offered a free download.
What’s cool about stenciling is that I can combine the black and white font using various color pairings. With some slight off-setting the result will be HOT.
Of course I made sure to buy a Turquoise paint that approximates the actual Twitter Logo. “Killer” and “Chiller” are two words that immediately come to mind
Edward Smith: Would you like to see your pictures on as many walls as possible, then?
Andy Warhol: Uh, no, I like them in closets.
Before BRANDTRUEBOY was a blog it was a motif in my sticker graffiti art. An ex banger who worked in the kitchen at the West Village dive where I waited tables drew the “Trueboy” bubble tag to add to the mix. Few gifts have made me as happy as that single piece of paper. Not only was the lettering totally hot but it came complete with a pink sperm cartoon character. I promptly made a series of T-shirts and stickers baring the tag either by itself or with stenciled phrases of text on top—like this “donut” version which contains a line from “Eric B is President” by Eric B and Rakim.
I’m shy but it doesn’t mean anything is wrong. Society is sick—which makes me apprehensive.
Hijacked billboards are hot.
